In an effort to provide evidence for USAID/Bangladesh to enhance its work with the Government of Bangladesh’s (GOB) Health, Population, and Nutrition Sector Development Program (HPNSDP), the HFG Project conducted an analysis of USAID funds flowing through the World Bank’s Public International Organization (PIO) grant mechanism. The PIO grant mechanism is part of a multi-donor collaborative effort to support the GOB in achieving the Programs’ 2011-2016 goals and objectives.
The “USAID-World Bank Public International Organization (PIO) Grant Funding Analysis” report describes the flow of USAID funds and disbursements, details the results of operational plans during specified periods of performance, and summarizes USAID’s contribution to operational plan goals and objectives. The analysis demonstrates how USAID’s $40 million contribution to Bangladesh’s health sector through the PIO grant has been used to support USAID objectives, and supports USAID/Bangladesh in building upon its coordination with the GOB and other development partners in support of the HPNSDP.
